MOTO-ST Stars on Daytona Pace
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March
2, 2007)
-- Brian Parriott, winner of the first ever SunTrust MOTO-ST
event at Daytona International Speedway last October, showed he
is poised for a repeat performance after winning the Expert GT
Lights race in Friday's Championship Cup Series action on his
San Jose BMW R1200S.
The Calistona, Calif. rider teamed up with Nate Kern of Cherry
Hill, N.J. and Belgian Stephane Mertens to win the inaugural
Eight Hours At Daytona last fall for the San Jose BMW team.
Parriott will be joined by Kern again in the squad for Sunday's
Daytona USA 300, the opening round of the 2007 SunTrust MOTO-ST
Series.
"I knew we could do the times and I thought we had a good
package," said Parriott of his Championship Cup Series success
on Friday. "I've got to think we're looking good for Friday."

October after an exciting duel with the M4 EMGO Suzuki entry.
"The bike's better than October and the team's more together,"
Parriott said. "It looks like we have a whole new team."
Parriott wasn't the only MOTO-ST competitor to enjoy success in
Friday's action. The Vallely Racing Suzuki team of Tom Vallely,
Mike Himmelsbach and Josh Day placed first overall and in the
GTO class in the first round of the ASRA Team Challenge Series.
The Vallely Racing team finished third overall in last October's
Eight Hours At Daytona.
The RightsForBikers.com Ducati squad of John Lindner and C.J.
Czaia won the GTL class in the ASRA Team Challenge round.
