The SunTrust MOTO-ST Series Heads for Homestead-Miami Speedway

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 27, 2007)
-- When the Green Flag signals the start of Round 2 of the
SunTrust MOTO-ST Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway, April
13-14, race fans will be treated to an incredible action display
of two-wheeled competition.
There is literally no other form of motorcycle racing that can
be compared to the spectacle of professional team road racing.
It is unique. It is fast and unbelievably exciting. Unprotected
by metal or heavy roll bars, knee-dragging riders wrestle heavy
machines about corners, leaning over at impossible angles, then
rocket down straights at speeds over 150 mph, sometimes so close
that they trade the paint off their fairings. It is team road
racing at its best and showcases the talents of some of the
greatest two-wheeled athletes in the world.
Not only is the racing action unparalleled, but so are the pit
stops. Just like in NASCAR, pit stops are all-important and can
easily make the difference between winning and losing. Pitting
approximately every 40 minutes, each stop is critical. The MOTO-ST
rules allow a total of 8 people over the wall; 2 riders, 5
mechanics and 1 fire bottle (only). Riders can only assist each
other with radios or adjust the dash; otherwise they will be
considered one of the 5 mechanics. A good pit stop requires
everyone working in total unison with no mistakes and that is
what each team will be striving for throughout this 500 K event.
In its first full season, the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series features
three classes; The Buell Motorcycle
Company SuperSport Twins class (SST) which includes motorcycles
producing between 90-118 horsepower, the BMW Grand Sport Twins
class (GST) covering motorcycles producing 75-90 horsepower and
Sport Twins (ST) for machines under 75 horsepower.
A true test of both man and machine, the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series
gives race fans a chance to see a variety of different machinery
in action including motorcycles from BMW, Ducati,
Harley-Davidson, Suzuki, Aprilia, Buell, Kawasaki and more.
The 500K SunTrust MOTO-ST Series event at Homestead-Miami
Speedway is definitely one not to be missed.
In addition to Homestead-Miami Speedway, the SunTrust MOTO-ST
Series will also include the VIR 500K, April 27-29 at Virginia
International Speedway, the Road America 500K, July 7-8 at Road
America, the Iowa Speedway 500K at Iowa Speedway July 12-13,
2007 and the 8 Hours at Daytona Finale, October 19-20 at Daytona
International Speedway.
MOTO-ST is organized and sanctioned by Professional Motorsports
Productions (PMP) of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the Grand
American Road Racing Association, based in Daytona Beach, Fla.,
provides the series with administrative and commercial support.

individuals in the world of motorsports, including Hall of Fame
