Team RightsforBikers.com Overcomes Adversities to Finish First MOTO-ST Event
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March
8, 2007)
-- Despite a wrecked bike on the third lap of Sunday's
DAYTONA USA 300, the opening round of the SunTrust MOTO-ST
Series at Daytona International Speedway, the competitive spirit
of Team RightsforBikers.com never waned.
And even though the other two machines faltered; one shift
linkage broke and an engine bearing seized, the team rallied to
finish the race.
"Most teams would have quit," said CJ Czaia, team owner and
rider of the No. 89 machine. "But we persevered as a team."
Rider of the No. 16 machine Nicole Hoffman said, "Months of race
preparation sometimes can't prepare a team for those well-known
"racing incidents" – mechanicals, crashes and the like.
Sometimes you realize that it's the way you come back from those
incidents that helps build a team in order to grow."
And come back the team did. Behind the wall, riders and the crew
worked feverishly to replace the front end of the wrecked No. 16
machine so Hoffman could get back out.
With 46 laps down, Hoffman, in good spirits on the repaired
motorcycle, completed a 50-minute stint and handed the bike back
over to Robert Fisher.
Further review of lap times indicated Team RightsforBikers would
have been on the podium and in contention for the win had the
team not been plagued by mechanical woes. More than this, John
Linder, on the No. 89 Ducati, led several laps during Sunday's
race. And on Friday before the race, CJ Czaia and Linder walked
away winners in the in ASRA Team Challenge, GTL. "We have a
history of winning that race as long as we don't suffer
mechanical gremlins," added Czaia.
Team RightsforBikers.com's diligence did not go unnoticed by
media in attendance during the event, which included the SPEED
Channel. Other media impressions came from Daytona Beach
News-Journal, WHOG 95.7 FM, WFTV Channel 9 Orlando, the Official
Daytona 200 Program, Hometown News and MOTO-ST press releases.
After an extensive team meeting and look at Sunday's race, Team
RightforBikers.com is eager to head the Homestead 500K, April
13-14 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Other races on the calendar include the VIR 500K, April 27-29 at
Virginia International Raceway, the Road America 500K, July 7-8
at Road America, the Iowa Speedway 500K at Iowa Speedway July
12-13, and the 8 Hours At Daytona Finale, October 19-20 at
Daytona International Speedway.
Final Results:
Nicole Hoffman & Robert Fisher – 10th in ST class, 35th overall
Nathan Dressman & Greg Melka – 11th in SST class, 25th overall
CJ Czaia, John Linder and Eric Menetrier – 9th in GST class,
33rd overall
